Shambhala Masters And the Power To Pause
The Shambhala pathway is a life-long way of being. It is a life-long journey into personal excellence through Integrity. The original essence of this pathway has been passed down from master to master for over 5000 years.
What is this essence that has been passed down for centuries through the martial arts? It is a way of being that opens and clarifies the mind while, at the same time, it strengthens and trains the body.
It is a dynamic process that re-unites the mind and the body … creating a powerfully enhanced spirit. This powerfully enhanced spirit then becomes a guiding force in everything Shambhala Masters feel, think, say and do.
One of the most important things this guiding spirit gives Shambhala Masters is the power to pause. The power to pause and think before we do or say something we will regret. The power to pause and think about the long and short term consequences of our behavior; the power to become Conscious. It is your primary responsibility to pass down to your students this power to pause. So that they may learn to think before they act; and use the pause to consider the short and long term consequences of their thoughts, feelings, words and behavior: and walk away when others invite them to participate in behavior that would put them or others at risk.
To Shambhala Masters personal excellence and Integrity are not just vague or lofty ideals. They are a practical, pragmatic way of living that combine a growing self-regard with the ability to train themselves and others to make decisions that add to the quality of their lives and to evolutionary excellence.
